Summary: Did a lot of homework on which type and which model of camcorder to go for. Reviews saying 'don't buy a disc camcorder under any circumstances' and many other put-downs. Well it's obvious really, it's horses for courses, as they say. The plus with a disc is you don't have to take up loads of memory on a pc. Initialising or formatting a disc is not a big deal when you know it has to be done. And as for the camera itself, very pleased and impressed.
Summary: I've had this camcorder for a few years now and have not had any problems with it. It is very easy to take out and start recording, and the videos look great when played from the TV. It has a pretty good battery life. I've had a few problems with the camcorder not recognizing certain discs, but that only happened a couple times. Overall, this is a great camcorder, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: Ok, I bought this camera for home videos and family trips a few years ago, and I liked it. for the first few times I used it. After i got home from a four month trip I tried to upload it. IT WOULDN'T UPLOAD! I got my whole family to try and get it up loaded and finally it did. it uploaded to windows movie maker. the camera won't upload to any other software that i could find + the software that came with it won't upload on our pc and its a new one!
Summary: I like the ease of use of this camcorder and that you can use a DVD disc or media card. You can also take pictures! So far I love this camera and am satisfied with the quality. I am a big fan of Canon and Nikon cameras, so I'm glad they make good camcorders too!
Summary: even with a low pixel this camcorder is giving excellent results. not so hard to operate . but must read the instruction booklet quite carefully. No matter what disk is used a slight background recording noise is present if no other sound recording on the disk. With voices or noise it is hardly noticeable. overall good camera considering the amount of time it has been on the market.
