If you want a low cost desktop, then the ‘nettop’ makes a lot of sense. By using Nvidia’s Ion technology, this Acer represents the first genuinely desirable nettop, thanks to an HD-capable graphics chip. Read more

This ‘net-top’ computer is about as powerful as most ‘netbook’ or mini-notebook computers. It’s not designed for gaming or high-powered tasks such as video editing, but for office and internet usage it’s ideal. The computer uses an Intel Atom N230 processor, with 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk. That is better than most netbooks, but only slightly, and it’s counterbalanced the power-hungry Windows Vista Home Premium operating system (as opposed to most... Read more

Nvidia’s Ion platform makes perfect sense here, but Atom, at least the single-core version, has no obvious place in a mains-powered nettop PC. Still, the Revo is cheaper and sexier than its nearest rival, Asus' HDMI-equipped Eee Box B206 . Still too pricey at £250? We say get the £150 one with Linux and an 8GB SSD, while stocks last. ® Read more

The Acer AspireRevo R3600 is the most versatile nettop we've tested to date. Aided by its Nvidia ION chipset, it's capable of playing games and running 1080p movies. Ultimately, it's very good value for anyone that requires a cheap second PC Read more

At the time of this review, this computer is not yet officially available in the United States. (I bought mine in Canada, and paid the $20.00 import fee). This lightweight computer is excellent for what it is intended to be....that being a small computer for living room, den, use next to your television set. It can attached to the back of the TV or used on a stand or just put on a flat surface. The model M330 comes with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (yes there is... Read more

This review is from: Acer Aspire Revo R3600 Desktop PC (Intel Atom N230 1.6 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Vista Home Premium) (Electronics) Windows Vista runs like a tortoise - redefining the meaning of slow. Linux however brings new life to this machine giving it purpose. Works great when running XBMC and plays 1080 content - which is a great plus. Do not use it for anything else than media player so can't say how it performs for other tasks. The internal WiFi card is not... Read more

Mine came with Vista Home Premium, whereas I would have liked either XP or Windows 7, but to its credit the OS hasn't crashed once in the 4 weeks I've owned it. On first boot it detected my LG 1680x1050 TV/Monitor and set up the correct resolution and frequency without issue. It came with a wired keyboard and mouse, though I understand that in some countries it comes with wireless ones. It is now bolted to the back of the TV using the supplied VESA backet, and I have a...
