Surprise Surprise!

eXpansys
27 July 2007
  • Excerpt: I never thought anything could top my old 11c but this sure comes close. Many things are actually simpler and easier! What?My favorite improvement is that you can use the calculator while it is still in the case. This may not sound like much but I really like it.

Good calculator

Carl B., Newegg
12 December 2015
  • Pros: Works as described
  • Cons: One of the main reasons I got this model is for the programing features. I replaced a HP-41S. This model is a downgrade because you can not name the program for easy recall. The program label is a single "A, B, C, etc". For me it makes the program feature almost useless.

No Printed Manual! - Dreadful LCD Display - Not Like HP Calculators of Yore, Thats For Sure...

Bob, Amazon
7 February 2015
  • Summary: Right off the bat, two stars down for no printed manual! Also, as others here have mentioned, the display is simply awful. Another star off on that account. I could go on but would just be reiterating other reviewers. The manual comes on an included CD...

Good, but could be better

FrozenInNH, Hewlett-Packard
18 March 2014
  • Summary: My experience with HP calculators includes using an original HP-35 some forty years ago when the model was new. It was an amazing encounter as up until that time one had to employ slide rules and books filled with tables of function values. Learning RPN was easy.

Worst HP keyboard ever used

wildbill69, Hewlett-Packard
12 March 2014
  • Summary: I've used HP's since the 80's, loved the 34C and my 11C. Unfortunately lost the 34C and used the 11C for over 20 years until last week when the display couldn't take commercial travel in unpressurized baggage compartments.

Keys give out!

JFJUSA1, Hewlett-Packard
17 October 2013
  • Summary: The keys on this calculator are horrible and start to malfunction within 4 months of owning it. They require too much pressure and do not hold up to constant use. I cannot rely of the results that I get. I have to double check (sometimes triple check ) my results.

HATE IT!!!!

jebsdaddy, Hewlett-Packard
8 August 2013
  • Summary: I am a mechanical engineer and had used a HP20 for the past 18 years or so and loved it. When it passed away, I bought the HP35S thinking it would be probably better. I loved it until I tried to do the most basic thing.

WHAT A DOWNGRADE

cameron2, Hewlett-Packard
23 April 2013
  • Summary: I have been using a hp 32s rpn calculator for 22 years. Now I am stuck running this (35s) replacement, and it is a nightmare. Some genius desided to move all the buttons around, and worse yet the 35s no longer has the polar/recatngular convertion funtion that I used on a daily basis.

Don't waste your time and money

manwholostmoney, Hewlett-Packard
10 April 2013
  • Summary: I have 2 hp33s that I use everyday to help day to day land surveying. I used them so much the buttons started falling off. I then bought this hp35s which was the replacement. What a waste of money! It doesn't have the right functions to calculate and store traverses like the hp33.
