Pentax 8x40 PCF WP II is a full sized waterproof porro prism binocular. It is built with large front element to provide brighter image. This binocular is ideal for use on and around the water, as well as for observations in harsh weather and extreme climates.

The 8x40 PCF WP II is a porro-prism center focus binocular with built-in focusing arm. Besides that, it is built with lens construction that provides clear visibility. Its integrated lens features objective lens eyepiece lens 2 elements in 1 group 3 elements in 2 groups coating lens prism full multi-coating multi coating. In addition, it allows 6.3° of real field view. In addition, its eye width adjustment ranges from 57 to 72 mm. It also includes eyepiece ring which is a Helicoids type. It is also filled with Nitrogen. The standard package content comes with objective lens caps, rain-shielding eyepiece caps (eyepiece lens caps), case and neck strap. The binocular measures 7 x 5.4 x 3" (178 x 136 x 76mm) (W x H x D) in dimensions. Technically, it features 40 mm of aperture. Besides that, it allows up to 8 times of magnification. It has 6.3° angle of view. It allows 110m of field of view at 1000m. It also provides 5mm of exit pupil. It has 25 in relative brightness. Its eye relief measures 20 mm and its objective lens is 40 mm in diameter. It is designed in black color body. It is waterproof up to 1m depth of water (JIS class 6). Plus, it is also fog proof.     The Pentax 8x40's more than met my expectations. Field center is very sharp, with typical fall off toward the edge that is not bad at all. The weight, fit and feel of the Pentax standard porro prism design fits the hands very well, in fact, they are excellent for balance and steady observing. The rubberized body is very tactile and comfortable. The focus is a little stiff, but I like it that way... no wandering. Great features are internal focusing and superior... Read more

    Bright image, good control of colour dispersion, good sharpness, but depth of field is not very good. reasonable price but provide you metal frame inside, very solid body like a tank. That is why it is heavy and big. My hand is not big enough to focus smoothly. Read more

    I received these binoculars two days ago and have been putting them through the paces, indoors and outdoors. The temp. outside today was about 25 degrees fahrenheit, a partly cloudy winter day. I came across some Cedar waxwings and also a Downy woodpecker, the views through these Pentaxs' were great, I noticed the focus was very sharp and the Birds colors looked natural.
