Boosting greater processing power of X27, Shuttle has updated the new dual core version of the Atom processor. The newly Shuttle X27D improves the performance by around 50% as compared to the single core processor. As a beautiful solution designed to fit users’ exquisite taste, the X27D appears to be a light and stylish with the sleek piano black finish box. Measuring a mere 3 liters in volume, around 1/10 the size of a traditional tower desktop, it is designed to sav…

Vista is a possibility when it comes to the X27D, but the Atom 330 CPU of the Shuttle X27D struggles with even basic tasks in Windows XP, so it isn't surprising that many Atom-equipped laptops have less demanding Linux -based operating systems. However, on a tiny laptop, a lack of processing power is less noticeable, as the small screen, and cramped keyboard and trackpad limit your ambitions. With a full-sized desktop TFT, you may want to run numerous apps concurrently,... Read more

Shuttle has done its best with Atom 330 and has left prices unchanged but it is severely hampered by the Intel 945GC chipset. As things stand, we're neutral on Atom for the desktop but we look forward to the next chapter in this story. Read more
The x27D is, at the time of writing, the fastest nettop-style machine we've ever tested. Its dual-core Atom 330 CPU makes it a far more robust solution than PCs such as the Eee Box. It's a little too noisy for our liking, but it's affordable, attractive and definitely worthy of consideration Read more
This is a pretty capable computer that looks good below the TV and plays everything except HD smoothly on a 46" LCD TV via DVI and audio cables. It is also reasonably speedy as a web browser and PLEX player. Installed Mac OS X via iATKOS 7 with a minimum of fuss and am running 10.5.7 quite smoothly. I didn't need any bits or pieces from other hacks as seemed to be necessary with earlier versions of iATKOS. It boots quickly and OS X sees it as a quad-core computer. Sleep,... Read more
