Shuttle ST61G4

The Shuttle ST61G4 is a small form factor with Intel Pentium 4 and Celeron processors at 800, 533 or 400 FSB supports Hyper-Threading and supports Prescott (since BOM version 14) and Northwood. Graphics is supported by ATI Radeon 9100 IGP (RS300) + IXP 150 Award V6.0PG BIOS, 4MBit flash memory with hardware monitoring and ACPI power management functions with integrated ATI RADEON 9100 based 2D/3D graphics core fully support DirectX 8.1 with shared 128 MB memory and TV out support PAL and NTSC systems. Audio support is via a 6-channel Audio Realtek ALC650F 5.1 channel audio controller AC97 v2.2 compliant. The unit is made of G4-type chassis made of aluminum, acrylic mirror front face, available in silver or black color. It has an integrated 6-in-1 memory card reader and 1 x 5.25 inch (external), 1 x 3.5 inch (internal) storage bay. The unit measures 30 x 20 x 18.5 cm and weighs 3.6 kg.

The Shuttle ST61G4 features Broadcom BCM4401 Fast Ethernet network controller supports 10 / 100 MBit/s and Firewire controller IEEE1394 Firewire controller VIA VT6307 with 2 Firewire connectors (front and rear) supports 400Mb/s, 200Mb/s, 100Mb/s data transfer rate. The ST61G4 supports Intel® Pentium® 4 and Celeron® processors, Hyper-Threading technology, as well as ATI RADEON 9100 graphics and dual-channel DDR400 memory. It features connectivity via FireWire® 400 and USB 2.0 ports built-in. Onboard TV-out, VGA and SPDIF ports offers options to display digital files on audio, video and pictures. The Silent X technology features on this unit gives the XPC ST61G4 quiet operation. This unit also features Integrated Cooling Engine technology, intelligently-engineered airflow mechanics and Silent X 250W power supply.

    Shuttle has once against impressed us with their latest XPC. Combining the IGP9100 with their small form factor system, the ST61G4 would make a perfect HTPC when coupled with a TV tuner. While the onboard graphics is an excellent choice, the ST61G4 is also loaded with other features.     Despite its high price, the ST61G4 has a lot to offer, and is the most complete small form factor PC yet. The Radeon 9100 graphics processor doesn't offer fairytale performance, but just as on-board sound is no longer laughed at, the 9100 could perhaps mark the beginning of the rehabilitation of on-board graphics.
