Kept me cool in my time of need!

  • Summary: So far it is working just right. The so called remote communicating with the A/C does not work too well. It works some of the time. When it works it quite nice. Remote has to be in he line of site which is a poor design. People have too many room configuration. Even when it is in the line of sight it still loses communication with ac unit.

Cools nicely. Confused on EER

Shan-Ta Y., Newegg
30 June 2013
  • Summary: If I knew it was 8.5 EER I might have passed as my utility company currently has a $25 rebate for EER 9+ A/Cs.
  • Pros: The A/C is excellent at cooling and is much quieter then my old Fedders A/C which I needed to replace after 10 years. It adjusts the fan speed nicely and can use the remote to detect temperature. The item shipped very quickly and was in excellent shape when I received it.
  • Cons: Originally wanted to buy the A/C due to 9.0 EER rating. Out of the box and stickered on the A/C is a note that the AC is 8.5 EER, which just isn't as efficient as the 9.0 on Newegg's website.

works better than described

  • Summary: I purchased this unit as a back up heat source as well as the A/C portion. I was very surprised at how quite the unit is when the fan is at full speed. I was doubly surprised as the heating ability of the unit to heat my entire home. I have a timber frame with open loft and the unit is placed in the great room but heats the back bedroom and bath area. Very glad I made this pruchase.

  • Summary: The unit is fine for my apt. It heats and cools sufficiently. The fan is somewhat noisy especially on the medium and high settings. The low fan setting is tolerable.

frigidaire does the job and is reliable

slott2812, Ebay
28 August 2012
  • Summary: bought a frigidaire because i have bought other brands and by far frigidaire seems to be the best at reliability. bought a used 3 year old frigidaire 24000 btu over 9 years ago and it is still working like a brand new one and never have had any repairs to the unit. i installed this one in a rental house in the sunroom to supplement the central a.c. in the house. it was cooling and running very quietly when i left after installing it.

Works great

AC, AJ Madison
6 August 2012
  • Summary: Had it for a month. Installs easily, comes with a back grill. Pretty quiet unit. Requires more tilt than suggested in the instructions as I still had some water flow back and had to readjust the tilt. Wall units are still way more expensive than window units.
