Failed after very little use...BUT

Michael B., Newegg
24 June 2015
  • Summary: After I realized that it was no longer working, I called Frigidaire customer service. I VERY CALMLY explained the situation and said I was not at all happy with their product. I asked if the company could do anything to help me out, even though the unit was out of warranty.
  • Pros: I think this unit probably performed as well as an 8000 BTU air conditioner can in a large room that I now know should have a larger one.
  • Cons: Quit cooling completely after almost NO use. I was appalled when I turned it on this year and it put out NO cool air. It was carefully handled and stored in my home in its original box, covered with a heavy cloth, just to be sure.

Still Waiting.....

Justin R., Newegg
19 September 2014
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Been 3 days, the invoice says it has been shipped for 2 of those days. I have NOT received a shipping tracking number, or tracking email. Not to mention I live within 5 hours of the shipping facility... Very Disappointed with this order, and quite possibly will ask for a refund if I do not receiv...

  • Summary: would be nice if they made these ACs with a way to recharge the refrigerant.
  • Pros: This Thing keeps my living room (25' x 30') AND the Kitchen (15' x 30') nice and cool....about 20 degrees cooler then the outside temps. I will probably get at least 1 more.
  • Cons: None I can think of

Happy with purchase

Sean L., Newegg
6 August 2014
  • Summary: I used this to replace the old units that came with the house. It was a night and day difference (in a good way). It still doesn't compete with central air, but was very nice to have from May through September here in PA.
  • Pros: Very easy to setup/use. Remote had its own thermostat which was very nice. Filters were also easy to clean. When it comes to price vs. value, this unit is worth it.
  • Cons: Like any window unit, it make decent noise when it spins up to high, but it easily tolerated. You could also hear the compressor kick on occasionally which created a slight bang. (Possible I did not have the unit mounted properly).

Crispy in N.C.

Thomas D., Newegg
4 July 2014
  • Summary: This replaces an LG unit that was SO loud that when the compressor came on it would vibrate the entire window frame. My old unit made such an ungodly noise it would either keep me up or wake me up in the mornings.
  • Pros: Cools a large semi insulated upstairs bedroom to a the crispy 73F I have set the thermostat at on 100F days. Noise levels are quiet and even. No compressor vibrations. Keeps my bedroom cold at night even on its lowest fan speed setting. Temperature sensor in the remote is worth it's weight in Gol...
  • Cons: I cannot think of a single one.

  • Summary: Best bang for the buck for a small to medium size room. Not sure yet about long term reliability. We will see...
  • Pros: Fairly easy install. Does a decent job on cooling with minimal fuss and low noise levels.
  • Cons: Inconsistent temps even when the thermostat setting in on hold. Several degrees deviation randomly.

Good A/C unit

Vincent D., Newegg
26 July 2013
  • Summary: Its not rocket science - its an a/c for a reasonably large bedroom.
  • Pros: Easy install. Easy controls. Economy mode works well - keeps noise and electric usage to a minimum. Reasonably quiet.
  • Cons: was delivered on side - needed 2 hours before it could be turned on. Remote is silly and unnecessary.

  • Pros: Arrived quickly and just in time for the heat! My second A/C unit from New Egg. Well packed and easy installation. Unit to me is very quiet. When the compressor engages there is little difference in sound. The unit easily cools a large room and the 10.7 EER is great on the wallet. Price was great!
  • Cons: First don't be fooled by the recommended window width as that is at the point where the unit sits on the inner-most part of the winow with the adjustable sides fully retracted. The actual unit itself extending through the window will easily fit any standard window. Second and very minor is the re...

It's...cool. :)

Jon P., Newegg
8 July 2013
  • Summary: I like the unit. It was easier to install than other units, and much lighter. It seems to fit the window a little better as well. Runs cool to cold in MO summer afternoon to evening. Economy settings appear to work great when coupled with the remote placed across the room.
  • Pros: Does what it says. Much more quiet than my older model (3-4 years old). This cools a 20x20 room nicely, and I sit in a field in direct sunlight for 14 hours a day in +100 days in Missouri. Conditioner coupled with other room units keeps house cool during the afternoon and cold at night.
  • Cons: Unit does not "freeze the sweat off my face" when I come in from outside work. It's likely that's saving me from having a stroke or "catching pneumonia" as my grandmother would say, but honestly I wouldn't mind it.
