Summary: This model (DPAC12010H) gave me very good service for nearly 2 years. When it suffered a failure, Danby's customer service went to great lengths to make it right. Great company to do business with.
Summary: Unit arrived as described. I'm glad I bought the double hose unit. It took minimal time to cool down our up-stair bedroom, which is over 500 sq. ft. Easy to operate and setup. I would buy this unit again in future.
Summary: I purchased this air conditioner as a last ditch option last summer, and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase! Here in the lovely state of Washington, it doesn't get too hot.. And when it does, it doesn't usually last very long.
Summary: Our last AC unit died after just one year (yeah..., thanks, Koldfront). As other have said, it is on the large size, but still quite manageable. I really like the dual-venting system to keep from pulling outside air in. Hookup was very easy. The unit is not quiet, but no loud either.
Summary: First off, this unit is huge. This is the first time I've had a 12,000 BTU unit, so I don't know if this is what a typical size is for this btu rating. Despite this, it's a nice looking unit. From the outside, it looks like the build quality is pretty decent.
Summary: It can be a little loud if it's right next to your bed (where I like mine), but it's a small price to pay for the results. It does an excellent job of cooling the place off and goes as low as 61 degrees. If you are looking to cool a room, studio, or small apartment, I highly recommend it.
Summary: This thing worked okay for a while. But, it has the vent on the top of the thing. Eventually, someone set a pencil on top of it, which of course fell into the vent. Can we get it out? NO. We took the whole dang thing apart, and guess what, you can't get to the inside of the vent, no matter what.
