  1. Onkyo TX-SR605 Receiver

Though I'll occassionally splurge big on speakers, the truth is I'm generally not a flagship kind of guy. Rather, I usually shop for gear that does the job at an affordable price and, bearing in mind the rapid rate of obsolescence of everything silicon, I pay careful attention to features that will prolong the product's lifetime. Of course, I demand strong performance. The Onkyo TX-SR605 fits all my criteria. I like its performance (particularly audio); I like its... Read more

  2. Onkyo TX-SR605 and TX-SR805 A/V Receivers

The bottom line is that both Onkyo receivers, the TX-SR605 and the TX-SR805 nail it where it counts the most - in the audio performance, feature-set and build quality departments. With features like HDMI 1.3a and Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, both models are also future-proof, which is increasingly important in our ever evolving home theatres. I strongly suggest taking a look at Onkyo's new line-up if you're looking for an A/V... Read more

I bought this receiver last year, works great, still not sure what half of the features of it do! Hooks up all my different components, just hit the button on the remote and it switches inputs and goes to the device no problem.
